Give Difficult Recordings A Better Chance.

Noise reduction, repair and intelligibility enhancement.

Audio Restoration & Forensics

Not every recording arrives clean. We assess problems such as noise, distortion and poor dialogue intelligibility, then determine what can realistically be improved without promising impossible recovery.

If possible, send a short untreated sample and explain what needs to be understood or recovered. We'll assess what's realistically achievable before recommending an approach.

Before We
Begin.

Each project's requirements are different. Get in touch to talk through the details.

Can Every Damaged Recording Be Repaired?

No. Recovery depends on the source recording and the type and severity of damage. An assessment comes first.

Can You Guarantee A Result For Court Use?

No. Legal admissibility depends on the circumstances and applicable requirements. Discuss any evidentiary purpose before work begins.

Should I send the original recording or an already processed version?

Wherever possible, send the original, unprocessed recording. Noise reduction and other processing can permanently remove useful audio information, making further restoration more difficult. A short sample is usually enough for an initial assessment.

What kinds of unwanted sounds can audio restoration help reduce?

Depending on the recording, restoration may improve problems such as background hiss, electrical hum, clicks, intermittent noise and excessive room sound. Each recording needs to be assessed individually, as some problems are much more difficult to address than others.

Will audio restoration affect the natural sound of someone's voice?

It can, particularly when aggressive processing is needed. We aim to balance noise reduction with natural voice quality and intelligibility, rather than removing every trace of background sound at the expense of the recording.
